# DoorProfit API

> REST API and hosted MCP server for U.S. location data: crime safety grades (A+ to F) and nearby incident counts, neighborhood demographics/income/housing/rent/cost of living/weather, and registered offenders. Query by street address or lat/lng; responses are JSON. No SDK or CLI to install, any HTTP client works. Free plan: 10 calls/month, no card.

Start with the Agent Quickstart (markdown, one page): it has auth, every endpoint and parameter, code examples, MCP setup, pricing, and error codes.

Try it with no signup: `key=demo` works for the test address `500 Main St, Dallas, TX 75202` (or `lat=32.78014&lng=-96.800454`) on /v1/crime, /v1/neighborhood, /v1/offenders and /v1/usage, and as an MCP bearer token:

Auth boundary: any other address needs a real API key (`key` query parameter). A human creates the key at https://api.doorprofit.com/signup and copies it from the dashboard; agents cannot self-provision one. The test address never consumes quota on any key.

- `GET /v1/crime`: Safety grade, numeric score, incident counts within 1,000 ft by type.
- `GET /v1/neighborhood`: Demographics, income, housing, education, cost of living, rent, weather, disaster risk.
- `GET /v1/offenders`: Registered offenders by location (radius up to 5 mi) or by name; paginated.
- `GET /v1/usage`: Plan, quota used/remaining (free, no quota).
- `<script src="https://api.doorprofit.com/v1/embed/crime-map.js">`: Embeddable crime heatmap widget.
